Town of Schroeppel Man Dies after being Pinned beneath Truck

FULTON, NY – On Saturday, at approximately 10:57 a.m., Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Fulton responded to a report of a male who was pinned beneath his truck at 380 Stewarts Corners Road in the Town of Schroeppel.

Investigation at the scene revealed that a male, identified as Ronald E. Hollenback, 50, had left his residence to work on a box truck parked in his driveway at about 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Hollenback was working on the rear axle of the truck and had the vehicle jacked up with the rear wheels removed.

At some point thereafter, the box truck slipped from the support jacks that were holding it in place and Mr Hollenback became pinned underneath the rear of the box truck.

The accident was discovered a short time later by a family member and reported to 911.

Menters Ambulance arrived on scene and pronounced Mr Hollenback deceased at 11:08 a.m.

State Police were assisted at the scene by Menters Ambulance, and the Pennelville Fire Department.
