OSWEGO, NY – On Tuesday at approximately 5:51 p.m., members of the Anti-Crime Team performed a traffic stop of a 1997 Saturn on East Seventh Street between East Utica and East Albany streets.
The vehicle was stopped as a result of observed traffic infractions, according to city police.
The operator of the Saturn, Quinzell Williams, 38, was found to allegedly be operating the vehicle while having a suspended privilege to operate.
Williams was taken into custody for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
Search incidental to the arrest resulted in the seizure of 20 bags of crack cocaine, having an aggregate weight of 8.2 grams as well as $1,140 in US currency from Williams’ person, police said.
Williams, of 112 Loehr Ave., Syracuse, was charged with the following:
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, with intent to sell- Class B Felony
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree- Class C Felony
Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd degree- Unclassified Misdemeanor
Several Traffic Infractions
Williams was processed and arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bail bond.
He is due back in Oswego City Court on April 23 at 9:30 a.m.
