Constantia Apartment Targeted by Armed Men, Police Say

Two masked men wearing camouflage clothes and carrying guns burst into an apartment in Constantia today, in an act police believe was not random.

According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department:

Two men wearing bandanas on their faces and wearing camouflage clothing forced their way into apartment A at the Waterwheel Apartments, 361 County Route 23, Constantia sometime shortly before noon.

They carried long guns.

Witnesses told police the armed men confronted three people inside the apartment.

The father of one of the apartment’s occupants returned home in the middle of the argument and got involved in it, they told police.

The two men ran off northbound on County Route 23.

One of the apartment residents chased the two gunmen, one of whom fired a shot at him.

The father drove towards the suspects, police say, and hit a tree.  One of the armed men then hit the father with a blunt object.

They fled into the woods.  As of 6:00 p.m., they had not been found.  They are described as black, with one standing about 6′ 1″ tall and the other about 5′ 10″

The father was taken to University Hospital.  His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police ask anyone with information to call them at 349-3411.
