Oswego County Federal Credit Union, Local Businesses Sponsor ‘Christmas In Mexico’ Dec. 3-5

Oswego County Federal Credit Union, in concert with local businesses, will be sponsoring “Christmas in Mexico” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3, 4, and 5 throughout the village and town of Mexico.

“Now that we have a new branch here, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to join with other local businesses in support of this festive holiday event,” said Bill Carhart, CEO of Oswego County Federal Credit Union. “We’ll be offering free cider and donuts in our community room on Saturday as part of the celebration.

Visitors enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride at last year’s Christmas in Mexico, NY. This year’s event is Dec. 3, 4 and 5 with activities throughout the town and village of Mexico. Festivities include horse drawn carriage rides, an Art Show, live music at Washington Hall, a parade with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Local shops will also host open houses with sales, treats and refreshments throughout the event. For more information find the event on Facebook® under “Christmas in Mexico NY” or email [email protected].

“Bright and early Saturday morning the indoor farmers market will open its doors and local shops will host open houses with sales, treats and refreshments. There will be bazaars and craft fairs hosted by many area churches throughout the day so families and friends can get some holiday shopping done.

“There will be a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy throughout the day, including horse drawn carriage rides, an art show, live music at Washington Hall, a parade with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus to follow.  We encourage everyone to come and see all that Mexico has to offer and join us in setting the Oswego County Snow Angel Record at 1:00 p.m. on the front lawn of the High School,” said Morgan Kerr, Event Coordinator. “Having so many supporters for this event is truly a blessing.”

Sunday will feature the sixth annual Christmas Concert held by the Mexico Historical Society at the First Presbyterian Church on Church Street (Route 69) in the village. “The concert will be followed by a lovely dessert reception,” Kerr said.
