Oswego, NY – Anthony House of Wellhouse Ministries hosted a memorable fundraising and kick-off event, Journey of Hope: The Road to Anthony House, this past Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Lake Ontario Event & Conference Center, in Oswego.

The event, which gathered community leaders, supporters, and sponsors in a shared vision for a new hospice care facility in Hannibal, featured an elegant meal, silent auction, live music by The Billionaires, and a presentation by Kateri Spinella, Executive Director and Board Chair of Anthony House, as well as the unveiling of the 3-D virtual architectural rendering of the proposed new facility, by Central New York architect Craig Polhamus, bringing to life the future of compassionate end-of-life care in Oswego County. Spinella expressed her deep gratitude for the collective commitment shown.

“This event was not only a testament to the generosity of our community, but also a reflection of the shared belief in the importance of accessible, dignified hospice care,” Spinella said. “We thank everyone who joined us, and we are incredibly grateful to our sponsors and supporters who are helping make our vision for Hannibal’s new hospice facility a reality.”

Among the evening’s major sponsors were Step One Creative, Chick-fil-A, and Reel Inspired Media, along with Dot Publishing, Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Fulton Savings Bank, Pearson Associates, PLLC, Leah’s Signature, and Travis Floral, amongst others.
Additionally, nearly 40 local businesses and individuals contributed raffle items for the event’s silent auction. Their partnership and support were instrumental in the success of the evening, allowing Anthony House to engage the community in this important mission.

The Journey of Hope event marked an important milestone in Anthony House’s campaign to establish the new facility, which will expand access to compassionate hospice services across the region. The funds raised through the event, and campaign going forward will go directly toward the development of the new facility.
