HANNIBAL, NY – The members of Scouting America Troop 780 asked the Hannibal community for help and the community responded. Their drive for donations of cans and bottles yielded more than 6,000 returnable drink containers. This week, the troop gathered to present a check for $330 to Anthony House’s Brian Fite, marking another step on the road towards building the planned end-of-life care center in Hannibal.

“We were blown away by the response from the community,” said troop leader Adrian Annal. “I’m thankful for the many hours our Scouts put into making this fundraiser a success.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Boy Scouts for organizing this bottle and can drive, and to the entire community for rallying behind Anthony House. Every donation brings us closer to opening our doors and serving families in Oswego County,” said Brian Fite, Director of Supporting Care for Anthony House.

Those interested in donating cans and bottles to Anthony House can bring them to Salty Dog Redemption Center in Hannibal or Great Lakes Redemption in Fulton.
