Local businesses and organizations have gotten into the festival spirit by supporting the annual Harborfest 50-50 raffle. Pre-festival raffle sales are heating up at area locations such as: Burke’s Home Center, C’s Farm Market, Cheapseats, Discover Oswego in Canal Commons, Garafolo’s, Legends Softball Complex, Lighthouse Lanes, Midnight Sun, PathFinder Bank, Raby’s, the river’s end bookstore, and Woodchucks. Raffle tickets can also be purchased by visiting the Harborfest offices located at 41 Lake Street in Oswego. Tickets are $1.00 each.
As Harborfest gears up for this year’s Caribbean Island cultural component, the lucky winner of the July drawing could easily visit any isle of their choice with an opportunity to win up to $25,000. The winner of the 2007 drawing, an Oswegonian, cashed in on $14,508, a huge return on a dollar investment.
During the festival raffle tickets will be available for purchase at kiosks in Breitbeck Park, River Walk East and East Park. Volunteers wearing specially marked red vests will also be selling tickets at Harborfest venues during the festival.
One lucky winner will be chosen from all the entries on the Labatt Lakeview Stage at 5pm on Sunday, July 27 following the WSEN Classic Car Show. Winner need not be present to win, must be 18 to play. Winner will also be posted on the Harborfest website Monday, July 28 at noon.
With the Route 104 Bridge closed for repair this summer, be sure to plan accordingly so that you don’t miss the events you want to see. The Utica Street Bridge will be open as will the pedestrian walking bridge located just north of Utica Street.
