Van Halen Nation and the Devonshires open up Harborfest 2013

The 26th edition of Oswego’s Harborfest, New York State’s Premier Admission-Free Festival, gets under way on Thursday night July 25.

The traditional opening ceremonies will again take place on the NRG Oswego Harbor Power “Lakeview Stage” in Breitbeck Park.

The entertainment for that night will include a classic rock tribute band and a returning Harborfest favorite with roots in classic rock as well.

Van Halen Nation, a Van Halen tribute band will take to the NRG Lakeview Stage with their authentic Van Halen experience. This band began performing in the mid 1990s in the Philadelphia and South Jersey club circuit and continues their status as one of best live bands in that area.

Van Halen Nation strives to provide the best and most authentic Van Halen experience.

The band takes great pains to be as detail oriented as possible, both visually and musically to provide the audience with the closest thing…next to the real Van Halen band itself.

The returning Harborfest favorites are the Devonshires, from England, who have been entertaining audiences across the United States for three decades. The Devonshires have performed with numerous rock legends such as Joe Cocker, Jefferson Starship, The Doobie Brothers, Eddie Money, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Cheap Trick.

The Devonshires tour stops include two distinct shows, with one featuring 1970’s classic rock and the other showcasing America’s favorite music from the 1960s.

Each show is performed with exceptional musical precision, fully costumed with props and skits and suitable fun for all ages.

The finishing touches are being put on opening night ceremonies for the NRG Lakeview Stage but the performances from Van Halen Nation and the Devonshires are sure to be great entertainment for all in attendance.

The complete entertainment line-up and show times will be posted as they are finalized at
