On Saturday evening, November 7, we were part of a packed auditorium at G. Ray Bodley High School to be entertained by the Fulton Community Band and once again, the 10th Mountain Division Band from Fort Drum. The evening was full of enjoyable music ranging from military marches to Dixieland.
We would like to commend the Fulton Music Association, consisting of president Steve Chirello and many dedicated community residents who make up the membership and of course the members of the Fulton Community Band under the direction of Carol Fox, who continue to provide to the community special events and outstanding community concerts.
We would also like to commend and thank the 10th Mountain Division Band, under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer William S. McCulloch, for their commitment first as soldiers just returning from Iraq where they supported our troops, and second as musicians sharing their talent.
At the end of the evening the two bands combined and a tribute was given each individual branch of the service and the veterans stood to acknowledge their service. It was an emotion filled moment as we thought back to when they were young and dedicated to serving their country.
Once again, we thank everyone involved for making this a memorable evening.
