What’s happening at CNY Arts Center?

FULTON, NY – Fall classes launch a brand new art for kids ages 6-18. “Sew You Can” will teach children how to use a sewing machine, learn basic stitches, and make a complete project. Students will receive certification and a patch upon completing the training and then be eligible to participate in Holiday Sewing Classes scheduled for late October and for Christmas giving.

Skill levels will increase as students practice on sewing machines at the Arts Center and materials are provided for fun theme-related projects. Classes for different ages, 6 to 8 year olds, 9 to 12, and 13 to 18 will meet separately. Ages 13 to 18 will meet Sept. 28 from 1-4 p.m. Please preregister at ww.CNYArtsCenter.com or call 592-3373.

Don’t miss Breakfast Meals September 28, 9 a.m. to noon, with Diane Sokolowski who will teach students how to make special breakfast meals such as Apple French Toast, Sausage Pancake Square, homemade Cinnamon Cream Syrup and many more.

Writers can join a Critique Workshop: How to Improve Our Writing with Jim Farfaglia Sept. 28 from 2 – 4 p.m., for writers ready to take a critical look at editing and improving their work. Participants should bring a writing piece they are currently working on. Class limited to five people for six two-hour sessions.

Kids Onstage for ages 7-18, continues Sept 28, from 5-7 p.m. Children meet weekly and learn stage presence, character development, technical theatre and much more. A production of “Picture This” will be presented at the end of the fall session.

The popular Digital Photography 101 kicks off another series of classes Oct 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. Learn the basics of using a digital SLR camera, no camera or experience necessary.

Kids Onscreen makes a return Oct. 5 from 2-4 p.m. for six classes. Students will create and star in their own short film. Ages 6 and up will write a story, cast and star in the film. A screening will take place at the end of the session.

Students are reminded to pre-register for all classes and workshops to avoid missing out. Classes and workshops charge a modest fee.

Arts in the HeART Gallery is located at 47 S. First St. in downtown Fulton across from the gazebo for local artists who want to display their artistry. Monthly artists meet-ups and TH3 Happy Hour also takes place at the gallery. Artists can apply for gallery space online at www.CNYArtsCenter.com
