OSWEGO – David Shortsleeve finally popped the question last Friday (May 12) night and is now engaged to Morgan Himes.
He planned it at my own birthday party while all my family was there to witness it, she said, adding he faked a photoshoot in the backyard with our puppy, Loki.
“He bought him a bow tie and told me we should have my dad take a little family photo of us for my birthday. After we took a couple photos we stood up and I was ready to head inside,” she said. “But, then he took me by the hand and got down on one knee. My dad caught the whole thing on camera!”
They are planning to wed on June 15, 2019.
She is the daughter of Jack and Heather Himes of Mexico. She graduated from Mexico High School.
David is the son of Mike and Lorrie Shortsleeve of Oswego. He graduated from Fulton.
Both of their families race motocross and their moms have known each other for years.
They introduced us at MotoMasters Motocross Park in Mexico in 2014, Morgan said.
“I am still shocked and beyond excited!” Morgan added.
