The New York State Department of Transportation regional office is alerting motorists of major road work and special events scheduled for this week that may impact travel in Central New York:

Continuous Projects – Oswego County

*Pavement and Drainage Repairs*

Route 104: Alternating single lane closures, both directions of travel, with one way single lane traffic controlled by flaggers to facilitate pavement and drainage repairs, between Maiden Lane and Soper Mills Road to Maiden Lane, New Haven, weekdays 7:00 am to 5:30 pm now through October 31.

Route 104B: Alternating single lane closures, both directions of travel, with one way single lane traffic controlled by flaggers to facilitate pavement repairs, between Route 104 and Route 3, daily 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. now through October 31

*I-81 Bridge Repair Operations*

I-81 Southbound Mainline: Right lane closed approaching and crossing over the bridge over the Barge Canal/Oneida Lake Outlet from 9 a.m. Thursday, August 20, continuous through at least November 30.

Major Projects, Elsewhere

Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-690 in both directions from I-90 (Thruway) to Bear Street: Alternating left and right lane closures and right/center closures, for overhead sign inspections.

Monday, September 14, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

I-690 Eastbound at Hiawatha Blvd: Left and center lanes closed for bridge maintenance.

Monday, September 14, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-81 Southbound at Park Street: Right and center lanes closed for bridge maintenance work.

Monday, September 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

I-81 Northbound at ramp to Route 370: Alternating lanes closures on ramp and on Onondaga Lake Parkway for overhead light repairs. In addition, the ramp from Park Street to Route 370 Westbound will also be closed.

***NIGHT WORK***

Monday, September 14 to Wednesday, September 16, 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-81 Northbound from Butternut Street to the Liverpool exit: right and center lanes closed for pavement work.

***NIGHT WORK***

Wednesday, September 16 to Thursday, September 17, 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-81 Northbound from Bear Street to Park Street: Right and center lanes closed for pavement work.

Tuesday, September 15, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

I-690 Eastbound at Van Rensselaer Street: Left and center lanes closed for bridge maintenance work.

Continuous Projects – Onondaga County

*Pavement Rehabilitation Operations, now through September 30*

US Route 11 Northbound and Southbound: Various lane closures from Miller Road to the bridge over the Oneida River (Brewerton) from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.

*Bridge Replacement Operations, now through approximately November 30*

I-81 Northbound and Southbound: Left lane and right shoulder closed in both directions, approaching and passing under the Bartell Road Bridge, Brewerton. Additional lane and ramp closures are possible on a daily basis as needed.

*I-690 Retaining Wall Rehabilitation Project, now through approximately November 30*

I-690 Westbound: Exit 11 (West Street) will be closed to all traffic.

I-690 Westbound Exit 11 (West Street) Detour: Proceed I- 690 west to Exit 10 (Geddes Street), turn left on Geddes Street to I-690 east ramp, proceed on I-690 east to Exit 11 (West Street).

*I-690 Paving Project, now through December 10*

I-690 Interchanges at Teall Avenue, Midler Avenue, Thompson Road, Bridge Street and I-481, both directions: Depending on contractor operations and the weather, work may be going on at any of these ramps between the hours shown above, according to the following two rules: 1) both the on- and off-ramp of a given interchange may be closed; and 2) consecutive on-or off-ramps (at successive interchanges) may not be closed.

*I-81 Bridge Repair Operations*

U.S. Route 11 Southbound: Reduced to one lane, right lane closed from Bailey Road to the I-81 Northbound Exit 26 (Mattydale) off-ramp continuous now through 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 25.

*I-81 Bridge Replacement and Resurfacing Project*

I-81 Northbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, with the left lane closed from Harrison Street to Willow Street at which point it will shift over to a right lane closure through Butternut Street, from 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, continuous through approximately Friday, October 16.

I-81 Northbound Ramp: On- ramp from Pearl Street closed to all traffic from 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, continuous through approximately Friday, October 16.

Detour for Pearl Street on-ramp: proceed north on Pearl Street, turn right onto Salina Street, left onto North State Street, left onto Lodi Street, right on to Court Street to I-81 north.

I-690 Westbound Ramp: Off-ramp to I-81 north will be closed to all traffic from 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, continuous through approximately Friday, October 16.

I-690 Ramp Detour: Continue west on I-690 westbound to Exit 10 (Geddes Street), turn right at end of ramp on Geddes Street, proceed on Geddes Street to Spencer Street, left on Spencer Street to Hiawatha Blvd., right on Hiawatha Blvd. to the I-81 northbound on-ramp.

Continuous Projects – Cortland County

*Highway Reconstruction and Bridge Deck Repairs*

Route 221 Eastbound and Westbound: Alternating single lane closures, between Tim Hill Road and I-81 ramps, in Marathon, to facilitate highway and bridge reconstruction, from August 7 to September 15.

I-81 Southbound at Exit 12: Left lane closed continuous for bridge repairs now through September 3.

I-81 Southbound at Exit 11: Right lane closed continuous for bridge repairs now through October 8.

I-81 Northbound at Exit 10: Right lane closed continuous for joint repairs now through October 8.

Motorists are advised to drive with extra care through work zone areas.
