Syracuse-artist Nikolay Mikushkin will headline a variety of artisans who are donating artwork to the silent art auction planned for this Friday, November 6th at the Farnham Event.

OSWEGO, New York - Acclaimed Syracuse-artist Nikolay Mikushkin will headline a variety of artisans who are donating artwork to the silent art auction planned for this Friday, November 6th at the  Farnham Unplugged: Rock the Arts event.

The Rock the Arts event will take place at The American Foundry in Oswego, and feature a live and silent auction, as well as headliner and world renowned artist David Garibaldi, who will be performing his Rhythm and Hue Show live.  In addition, local bands Frostbit Blue, The Predators, and Doc Apple will be performing as well!

Doors Open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 pre-sale, or $35 at the door. Call 342-4489 for additional information.

Pathfinder Bank, TK99/KRock, Palladium Times, Constellation Energy, Oswego County Federal Credit Union, Best Western Captain’s Quarter’s Hotel, and Step One Creative are major sponsors for the event.

Mikuskin was born and raised in Kazakhstan, and knew from a young age that he wanted to be an artist. He attended the College of Fine Art as well as the Academy of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture located in Russia.  He and his family moved to America in 1996 where he joined the United Scenic Artist Local 829 in New York City, working as a stage artist for different studios, movies, and television shows.  He now resides in Syracuse and is seeking new inspiration from the Great Lakes and what the nature in Upstate New York has to offer.

Mikuskin’s artistic style can be best described as Russian Academic Realism.  He paints beautiful landscapes, still lifes, sceneries, and portraits, and also paints decoratively; specializing in marbling, glazing, murals, wood graining, and more. He also creates stained glass for windows, doors, and furniture.  He has participated in many group and individual exhibitions, and his work has been featured and shown around the world.

“We’re thrilled that Nikolay is once again donating his artwork to this event,” said Jeanne M. Unger, MS and executive director of Farnham Family services. “His work is beautiful, was very well received at last year’s event, and will be a wonderful addition to this year’s silent art auction.”

Established in 1971, Farnham Family Services is a United Way agency that offers prevention services, school-based student assistance and treatment services to all residents of Oswego and surrounding counties.
