Shirley M. Keil, 81

FULTON, NY – Shirley M. Keil, 81, of Hannibal, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 6, 2019, after a short illness, at home with her family by her side.

Mrs. Keil was born in Fulton, NY, to the late Charles and Helen (Conner) Van Patten.

She had been a resident of Hannibal for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Keil worked as a nurse’s aide at Harwood Nursing Home, Oswego, for 19 years and then she worked in home health care.

After retirement she decided to go back to work with the Latchkey Program at Farley Elementary School, Hannibal.

Mrs. Keil loved going to the casino, gardening, knitting, crocheting and sewing.

In her younger years, she loved moving to new and different places.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Rhonda Furlong, in 2012; and her husband, Ken Keil, in 2014.

Mrs. Keil is survived by her five children: Cindy Falter of Rochester, NY, Todd Richardson of Red Creek, NY, Lisa Kinville, of Fulton, NY, Justin Richardson of California and Teddy Richardson of Fulton, NY; her sister, Linda Laning of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren: Kari Falter, Melissa Stout, Aaron Richardson, Joseph Richardson, Nigel Furlong, Amber Furlong, Tiffany Furlong, Jeremiah Kinville, Jacob Kinville, Joel Kinville, Nicholas Kinville, Sarah Kinville, Cody Richardson, Jenna Richardson, and Chase Richardson; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.

The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., with Pastor Derek Loperfido officiating.
