UPDATE Manhunt Underway In Fulton – Suspect Apprehended

UPDATE SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Zachary R. Bentley

03/20/2019 Fulton NY – Zachary R. Bentley was taken into custody by the City of Fulton Police Department and is being held on a New York State Parole Violation Warrant, Fulton Police reported at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Bentley was located and apprehended with the assistance from the New York State Police, Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, City of Oswego Police Department, New York State Parole, and U.S. Border Patrol.

FULTON NY – At about 1:30 a.m. (March 20) A Fulton Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction at which time the vehicle fled.

After a short pursuit the vehicle’s operator pulled into a driveway on the city’s east side, fleeing on foot.

Immediately after exiting his vehicle the Fulton Police Officer reported hearing gun fire.

Additional officers arrived on scene but were unable to locate the suspect who had fled into a wooded area.

While searching for the suspect in the immediate area a handgun was located.

Onondaga County Air One, the New York State Police, the Oswego County Sheriffs Department and the US Border Patrol all assisted in the search for the suspect.

The officer was not injured during the incident.

Zachary R. Bentley
DOB: 02/15/98

Bentley has an active parole arrest warrant at this time.
