Champlain Commons Accepting Applications

SCRIBA – Oswego County Opportunities is happy to announce that with the grand opening of Champlain Commons fast approaching the application process to rent an apartment is now under way.

Located on City Line Road in Scriba, Champlain Commons is a 56-unit affordable family rental housing complex offering a mix of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments.

Owned by Champlain Commons LLC and professionally managed by Cornerstone Property Managers, LLC, the program is designated to facilitate the housing needs of moderate- to low-income individuals and families.

Residency in all of the apartments at Champlain Commons is limited to those households having moderate to low incomes.

In addition to standard wages, income includes monies received from many sources such as pensions, social security, retirement accounts, alimony, etc.

This qualification and certification process must also be completed annually upon renewal.

Tenant is responsible for payment of gas and electric bills.

Water, Sewer and Trash is included in the rent.

This property offers off-street parking, Energy Star appliances and fixtures, common laundry rooms and apartments are located near a public bus line.

Standard security deposits have been established and are equal to one month’s rent.

Applications are being accepted now through May 14.

A lottery will take place at 10 a.m. on May 14 at The Reformed Presbyterian Church in Oswego located at 154 City Line Road Oswego.

After the lottery, applications will be accepted with a date and time stamp when received.

The project is posted online at NYHousingSearch.gov.
