Joan Streeter, 89

FULTON, NY – Joan (Rasmussen) Streeter, 89, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. Her loving family was close by her side in her final days on this earth.

Joan (Rasmussen) Streeter

Born in Oneida, NY, in 1929 to Peter and Dorothy Rasmussen, Joan lived most of her life in Fulton.

Joan graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1950 and worked as a substitute teacher in the Fulton City School District for thirty years.

She was an active member of the First United Church, serving as a Presbyterian Elder, Sunday School teacher and Cherub Choir Director.

Joan was married to Willard (Bob) Streeter (deceased 1972) and raised five children.

Her love of travel, gardening, music, history and nature live on through her daughter Cheryl (Tom) Lloyd and her sons D. Scott (Laura) Streeter, Mark Streeter, Glenn Streeter and Todd (Valerie) Streeter.

Joan was also cherished by siblings Jane Wilcox and Eric (Elizabeth) Rasmussen, and by her grandchildren Brian Jodway, Scott (Vicki) Jodway, Alison (Dirk) Endres and Ashley Streeter.

Joan continued to be blessed by eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.

Family graveside services will be planned at a later date.

Donations in Joan’s name may be made to the First United Church of Fulton Memorial Fund.

  5. To the Streeter family, so sorry for your loss my sympathies on the passing of this wonderful lady. I can remember her as a sub teacher when I was in High School she was one our favorite sub teachers. Always so pleasant and nice. God bless

  6. Joan was a wonderful woman. Whenever I needed a substitute she would be my first choice.I knew that everything would go smoothly in my classroom. She was very professional, and deeply respected by the GRB faculty. My deepest condolences to her family.
