Strap in – hang on – for the thrill of a lifetime ride! Hit speeds of 120 – 130 – 140 Miles per hour in the 2-seat Supermodified, which will be driven by some of Oswego’s best drivers. Rides will be available on most Saturdays before the pits open for racing action. The Oswego Speedway kicks off its “60th Season” of weekly racing action on Saturday May 8th and for the first time ever, fans will get a chance to tour the “fast five eighths” race track as a passenger in a real supermodified race car.

The 2-seater Supermodified will make its first appearance in Oswego Sunday, November 15th at the fund raiser for Stephen Gioia, III at Lighthouse Lanes. A highlight of the day will be somebody is going to win a ride in the 2-seater. Plus, for the first time, “Ride with the Supermodified Stars” tickets will be available for the 2010 season. Also look for the 2-seater at the National Parts Peddler trade show at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse the weekend of November 20-21-22. You will be able to purchase rides in the 2-seat Supermodified at both events.

The 2-seater was built originally by Dan Drinan for Davey Hamilton to be used at various tracks in the West and Midwest. Hamilton says the car is able to hit speeds almost equal to those posted by the fastest cars at tracks where it has been available for rides. At the Oswego Speedway the 2-seater will be equipped with a wing. Drivers already saying they will be available to drive the 2-seater are Pat Lavery, with 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the point standings the past two seasons, and Keith Gilliam, who finished 7th in points in 2009. Many other drivers have also expressed an interest in driving the 2-seater.

The Heat Race Package for the Ride with the Supermodified Stars includes a ride pass and infield spectator pass for a guest, 1 push off lap, and 3 laps at speed under the green, plus admission for the rider and a guest for that night’s racing at the Oswego Speedway.

The Feature Event Package for the Ride with the Supermodified Stars includes a ride pass and infield spectator passes for 3 guests, 1 push off lap and 5 laps at speed under the green, admission for the rider and 3 guests to that night’s racing at the Oswego Speedway, plus a visit to the VIP Tower and Sky Deck during the night’s racing action.

In addition to the regular race day Ride with the Supermodified Stars other dates and times are available, and other packages are available.

There will be many opportunities for small businesses and large corporations to treat their customers, clients, employees and friends to a Ride with the Supermodified Stars, including race day packages, weekday packages, hospitality tents, food, and rides in the Mini-Supermodifieds for kids.

To ride in the 2-seat Supermodified you must be at least 14 years of age, be at least 5-feet tall, and weigh at least 100 pounds, and be no taller than 6-feet-6 inches tall and weigh less than 275 pounds.
