OSWEGO, NY – Senior director of Oswego County Opportunities’ Health and Nutrition Department Ellen Holst has announced that Tricia Clark has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the New York State Association for Rural Health, a not-for-profit, non-partisan, grassroots membership organization working to preserve and improve health and human services in rural New York State.

Clark, who holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Health Services and a Masters of Business Administration, is currently the coordinator of the Rural Health Network of Oswego County, a consortium of healthcare providers and human service providers in Oswego County working together to take a collaborative approach to addressing major health issues that exist in Oswego County.

Her efforts to develop and prioritize initiatives aimed at improving the access to, and delivery of, health care in a rural environment such as Oswego County and her involvement with a number of the organization’s membership, legislative and advocacy, and program committees made her an excellent candidate the NYSARH Board of Directors.

“I am excited about the opportunity to serve as a board member for such a worthwhile organization,” said Clark. “Working in a very rural community I am well aware of the obstacles that exist; lack of health insurance coverage, limited public transportation, and scarce medical resources to name a few. As a NYSARH board member I am looking forward to raising the awareness of the unique challenges individuals living in rural communities are faced with and helping NYSARH achieve its goal of equal access to quality and affordable health care for those in rural areas.”
