  1. mrs. sumner was my fourth grade teacher at volney, i loved her. when i got older, i would run into her and she would always remeber me. she was an amazing teacher. she will surely be missed. may god bless you all.

  2. Joyce and I met when I transferred in as a junior at Geneseo and found out we were both from Fulton. Then we determined that she and my husband, Jim, were neighbors on the West Side when they were kids. I always remember her smiling, even through the last distressful years of her life. My condolences to Fred and the family. I too, shall miss her.

  3. Fred and family—So sorry to hear of Joyce’s untimely passing. Joyce was always a warm and friendly person, and although our paths have not crossed in recent years…I have many fond memories of Joyce, as did my late wife, Charlotte. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. John T. Sullivan, Albany, N.Y.
