Fulton Century Marathon And Half Marathon Set To Go

The Fulton YMCA will offer the first only marathon and ½ marathon events in Oswego County on Sunday, October 12, 2008.  The Century Marathon and Half Marathon will take place at as well as start at, Bull Head Point, with a start time of 7:00 am, in honor of a local runner, Ruth Ripley.

State Senate candidate Dave Renzi today met with workers and toured an Oswego County nuclear plant that his opponent once wanted to close, and said his opponent’s spectacular flip-flop on nuclear power should raise voters’ doubts about his commitment to the future of jobs, clean energy and the region’s economy.

Club Renaissance Auction AT A.P.W. HS

The A.P.W. High School Club Renaissance will be hosting an Auction on Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School.  The Auction will start at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.   All proceeds from the auction will be used to help construct a Valedictorian/Salutatorian Wall of Fame at the high school.

Half-Shire Historical Society

Despite high gas prices it is still a bargain to take a country drive and explore our region on a sunny fall day. The autumn colors across the Tug hill/eastern Lake Ontario landscape are now approaching their most brilliant.       This writer looks forward to just such a day next week, to travel around and wander some of the cemeteries from Barnes Corners to Florence, Glenfield to Redfield.

Video Of State Police News Conference

We’ve got the entire video of Tuesday’s news conference by State Police and the Oswego County District Attorney’s office, announcing the arrest of Alan Jones for killing 11 year old Erin Maxwell in their home in Palermo.  Erin’s father and stepmother were also arrested, accused of endangering the welfare of a minor.
