Smart Group Recognizes Oswego

<p>The Great Lakes Commission and NOAA Coastal Services Center will send a team to Oswego to develop case study examples of smart growth in the Great Lakes region.</p>

The Oswego Community Development Office received news today (Nov. 10), that the Great Lakes Commission and NOAA Coastal Services Center have selected the Port City among three winners for the Smart Growth Coastal City Awards for 2008. Using the winners, they will develop case study examples of smart growth in the Great Lakes region.

SUNY Oswego Club Hockey Team Splits Two Games

The Oswego State Men’s Club Hockey team traveled to Cortland State and defeated the Red Dragons 4-2 in recent NECHL action. Laker Dustin Kennedy (Oswego Admirals) scored 3 goals and Tim Rinck scored one with assists being credited to Jamie Shutts (2) (Fulton) , Eric Zerrahn (2) (Oswego) and Greg Distin (Fulton).  Oswego goalie Anthony Sellitti had 27 saves in the win.

Comedian Owen Benjamin To Come Home For SUNY Oswego Performance

</p>Oswego native Owen Benjamin, now a comedian, actor and writer living in Los Angeles, will have a homecoming performance at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, in SUNY Oswego's Waterman Theatre in Tyler Hall. The college's Shaun Cassidy Fan Club Improv Comedy Troupe will open the show. For information or reservations, contact Tyler box office at 312-2141 or tickets@oswego.edu.

Benjamin is slated to co-star with Christina Ricci in “All’s Faire in Love,” tentatively scheduled for 2009 release. He started with a small role in the Adam Sandler movie “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” which led to a bigger part in “The House Bunny,” produced by Sandler’s Happy Madison production company.

Open House at Oswego County BOCES

The hallways and classrooms in most buildings were teeming with activity during the Open House with special activities and presentations in many areas to share with parents and visitors. Parents also had the opportunity to meet teachers and see the student classrooms. Visitors toured areas of the Stern Building and Burton Ramer Technical Career Center where the classes are held.
