The Oswego County Ambassador program concluded its workshop series with drawings of prizes donated by local businesses. The grand prize of a $500 travel voucher, donated by Canalview Travel in Fulton, was won by Valerie Walthurt of Mexico, an agricultural specialist with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County

On Monday, September 28, SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations (OBCR) and the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET) will gather women from across New York State for “Connections,†a day-long conference to be held in the Sheldon Hall ballroom on the SUNY Oswego campus from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Students in the CYO Summer Program at Catholic Charities of Oswego County were treated to a very special presentation as EMTs Dan Collins and Carl Evans, Jr. of Mentor Ambulance Service visited the CYO for a demonstration on safety and rescue techniques. The two addressed students on the various duties and responsibilities of an ambulance team and demonstrated the different types of equipment that are available to them for use in emergency situations.
The Strong Families Safe Kids Parent Aide Program at Catholic Charities of Oswego County will offer a workshop series that prove to be very beneficial to parents of children ages 1 through 4.
Allstate Insurance Agent Thomas Direnzo, whose office is located at 11 North 2nd Street in Fulton, has received the Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to volunteering in the community. With this award came a $500 grant from The Allstate Foundation for the Salvation Army in Fulton, where Direnzo volunteers.
