Volney Voters Approve Water District Extension
Voters in Volney threw a shutout this week. They voted 29-0 to approve a new extension to the town’s water district.
The extension covers part of State Route 176 and a section of County Route 45. 67 property owners were eligible to vote, according to town clerk Barbara MacEwen.
Lynn Maxwell: Nothing In The House Was A Threat To Erin
Lynn Maxwell asserted that Erin Maxwell was never endangered by the smell of the urine of more than 60 cats and by bedroom doors that locked on the outside.
“There was nothing,” she said as prosecutor Mark Moody grilled her, “that was a threat to her.”

School Districts To Distribute School Supplies
Oswego County students in need of school supplies will find it easier to get ready for school thanks to the United Way Success By 6 “Stuff-A-Bus†campaign. Volunteers from the Oswego County Teachers Association and United Way Success By 6 staff will sort the collected supplies with a portion going to all of the school districts in Oswego County.

Murdock’s Donates Bikes To YMCA
Murdock’s has donates four bikes to the Oswego YMCA to be raffled off during the 30/50 mile Tour de Loop Bike Race scheduled for Aug. 22.
Committee Approves Requests To Use Public Space
The councilors approved a special request to allow a memorial celebration in honor of Rosemary Nesbitt to be held in Breitbeck Park. The committee sent other requests to the full council to be considered.
AmeriCorps Continues To Serve County
Recently, Valerie Edwin joined the Youth Bureau to help promote AmeriCorps in this area. The network of national service projects helps increase hours and activities at a variety of programs.
