The state Attorney General’s office has issued its annual report on professional fundraising firms who raise money for local organizations, called “Pennies for Charity”.
Absentee ballot totals were announced Tuesday in four of the eleven counties that make up the 23rd Congressional Disrrict.
The result: Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman narrowed the gap with Democrat Doug Owens by just 214 votes as the results from Oneida, Madison, Hamilton and Fulton counties came in.
On a sunny day in August David Engle and his girlfriend Audrey Pisiak, from the Central Square area, took off for a flight to visit a friend in Manlius in Engle’s two place light sport aircraft. What should have been a perfect day turned into something neither were expecting. On takeoff from the friend’s home, for reasons unknown, Engle’s plane did not clear some trees and was thrown down through them to the ground.

Getting back to some fundamental principles could save the Oswego City School District approximately $10 million, a school board member said Tuesday night. With potential mid-year cuts in state aid looming, the district has to find ways to be more efficient and affordable, he said.
