Summer Reading Challengers Meet the Assemblyman

Assemblyman Will Barclay is situated among a group of 2009 Summer Reading Challengers.  Each child who attended the event at Oswego Public Library received a certificate, a free pumpkin, a goody bag and snacks.The annual Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to read with their parents or by themselves for at least 15 minutes each day during the months of July and August, while children are on summer vacation from school. If completed, children receive a New York State Assembly Excellence in Reading certificate.

Hannibal Sports Boosters Donates Money to Pay for JV Wrestling

This is the second of four installments, totaling more than $27,000, that will be donated to the Hannibal Central School District to fund JV sports that were eliminated from the 2009-10 budget. JV Football, Fall Cheerleading, JV Wrestling, JV Baseball and JV Softball were all cut from the budget.

Rotarians Meet Their Students of the Month

Each month the Fulton Rotary Club invites two G. Ray Bodley High School students to a Rotary Club meeting.  The students are chosen by the high school administration and are students who excel in their studies, sports, and service to their community.  Recently, Sara Jay, left, and Emily Rothrock, right were introduced to the club by Rotarian Judy Young, center.  The club presents the students with an achievement award for their community service work.

Hannibal Senior Band Holds Kick-Off Concert
