Broadcaster Bob Gessner Dies In Florida; Left Legacy Of Local Programming

Bob Gessner fell in love with Oswego’s lake and stayed here long enough to see the things he loved about radio fall away.  Gessner owned Oswego’s WSGO-AM until the mid 1990’s and built its FM sister — the last local radio station owners in Oswego County.  He believed in local issues and put local ideas and local people on the air.  Gessner died over the weekend, but the people who worked for him — including his daughter — say his impact will always be felt.

The Oswego Children’s Theater to Present a Second Weekend of “Babes in Toyland”

" I Can't Do the Sum" The Oswego Children's Theater Presents a second weekend of the holiday Classic "Babes in Toyland" December 11 and 12 at St. Mary's Church Hall. Photo by Mark White.“Babes in Toyland” was written by the famous Victor Herbert with Lyrics by Glenn McDonough. The music includes such favorites as “Toy Land”, “I Can’t Do the Sum”, “Never mind Bo Peep” and “The March of the Wooden Soldiers”. The script for the Production was adapted for the modern stage by Lyndsie Jones and Wayne and Kelly Mosher.
