“Three Cups of Tea” Event at St. Luke Helps Raise Money for School District Project

Pictured (left to right) is Oswego City School District  Superintendant William Crist (left) as he accepts a check from St. Luke  Health Services resident (and avid reader) Carmella Fitzsimmons. The  donation is the result of a resident fundraising event to benefit the  “Pennies for Peace” initiative and community-wide “Oswego Reads project,  which will be hosting an appearance by Greg Mortenson. Mortenson is  co-founder and executive director of Central Asia Institute and  co-author of the New York Times best-seller Three Cups of Tea, in Oswego  on October 28th.The residents of St. Luke Health Services enjoyed an afternoon social of storytelling and tea, and took the opportunity to present the Oswego City School District with a donation on behalf of the community -wide “Three Cups Of Tea” initiative, part of the Oswego Reads project.

Anthony Collins, 2, is all smiles as he comes down the curved slide in the playground at Fulton’s Hulett Park on Tuesday. The park is also the new home to the Success By 6 Born Learning Trail.

When completed, the trail will consist of 10 learning stations utilizing the surrounding environment to promote learning for youth five and under.

Fulton Planning to Ban Outdoor Use of Indoor Appliances

There’s nothing like having a cold beer handy at the fridge while you’re stretched out on the couch.  But if the couch and the fridge are on your front porch, that will soon be a no-no in the city of Fulton.  City lawmakers banned indoor furniture from outdoor porches a few years back.  Now they’re after refrigerators, washers and dryers.
