Catholic Charities Recognizes Adult Mentors

Adult mentors participating in Catholic Charities’ Community Mentoring Program were recently recognized at a luncheon to celebrate National Mentoring Month. From left are: Ellen Donovan, Kristian Allen, program coordinator Gail Cooper and Amy Penfield. Absent are mentors Gina Holsopple, Cynthia Morabito, Stephanie Macro, Tina Sherman, Carrie Whipple, Christa Burns, Pam Peeling-Somers, Carolyn Emond, Constance Goldberg, Melanie Proper, Gary Paricio and Joshua Gallogly.

In recognition of National Mentoring Month, Catholic Charities of Oswego County recognized adults participating in the agency’s Community Mentoring program.

Fulton’s Mayor Not Too Worried About State Aid Cut

OMS Eighth Grader Among Elite Artists

Kayla Volkomer, an Oswego Middle School eighth grader, was recently recognized for her talent in the Central New York Scholastic Art competition. She provides a look at her talent by displaying a piece from her sketch book.

Scholastic Art judges awarded eighth grader Kayla Volkomer an honorable mention award. OMS Art teacher Linda Shannon said, “Kayla has an exceptional way of expressing herself visually. This is the first time I can recall that an Oswego Middle School student has received this recognition.”
