Ceremonies Mark Flag Day At Fort Ontario
In commemoration of Flag Day, a display of the many flags that have flown over Fort Ontario and the United States will be exhibited and explained by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Oswego Lodge #271. More than 250 school children will be at the old fort on June 14 at 10 a.m.
Lake Ontario Writer’s Works Part Of Native Circle Touch The Earth Festival
Award-winning author, free lance writer and photographer Susan Peterson Gateley, will share her work for the fourth Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival on May 28 at Mexico Point Park. Gateley is the author of eight books about Lake Ontario history and ecology.
Police Searching For Stolen, Possibly Deadly, Medications
At about 11:59 a.m. today (May 14), Oswego City Police responded to the parking lot of Water Street at West Bridge Street where it was reported that sometime during the night someone had broken into a locked van and stole medication. Some of the medication may be very dangerous, police said.
New Flood Maps To Be Displayed At Open House
Oswego County residents are invited to attend an open house to review the County’s new, preliminary flood maps on May 25, from 4-8 p.m. at the Oswego High School Cafeteria, 2 Buccaneer Blvd. There will be another open house on May 26 from 4-8 p.m. at the Central Square Middle School gymnasium, 248 U.S. Route 11, Central Square.

The OHS Counseling Department is in the spotlight this month for the Oswego City School District. Counselors Geoffrey Baer, Shawn Caroccio, Barbara Carroll, Rachel Henderson, Lisa Roman and Marilee Taylor can be found in the OHS counseling suite supporting individual students and student groups every day.
