Harborfest Fireworks Spectacular Set July 30

The Harborfest Saturday Fireworks Spectacular presented by Entergy Nuclear will be Saturday, July 30.

The world famous Entergy Nuclear Harborfest Fireworks by Grucci of New York will be July 30 at approximately 9:30 p.m. For the 24th consecutive year, the Saturday night fireworks spectacular will highlight the annual admission-free music festival on the shores of southeast Lake Ontario.

Cub Scout Pack 888 Celebrates Crossover and Arrow of Light Ceremony

The Webelos II Cub Scouts in the Oswego Pack 888 had their "Crossover" into Boy Scouts and also received the highest award you can get in Cub Scouting, the"Arrow of Light".  These scouts and leaders worked hard the last several years to get this achievement.  In the pictures is the following Scouts:  Arlo Olson, Brandon Davis, Tyler Davis, Ryan Tharrett and Robert Burkett.  In the back row is:  Charlie Barsi, Assistant Webelos II Den Leader,  Steve Schrecengost, Scout Master for Troop 888 and Shawn Tharrett, Webelos II Den Leader.The Webelos II Cub Scouts in the Oswego Pack 888 had their “Crossover” into Boy Scouts and also received the highest award you can get in Cub Scouting, the”Arrow of Light”.

Overnight Celebration Marks Death of bin Laden

 While many people sat in front of their TVs and radios and computers to absorb the news of the killing of Osama bin Laden by U.S. Special Forces troops, a large group of students at SUNY Oswego took to the campus quad to celebrate the news.

April 2011 Was A Bit Warmer, Wetter Than Average

Total precipitation last month was 3.34 inches higher than average, which helped to really churn up the waters in Oswego River.

The average temperature was 2.3 degrees warmer than average. And, the total precipitation, 6.66 inches, was 3.34 inches higher than normal. Last month also saw its share of high winds.
