Fourth and fifth grade students at A.A. Cole Elementary School in the Central Square School District took a trip of a lifetime and didn’t need to pack a bag or leave their school.
The Oswego High School girls’ lacrosse squad scored a 17-11 victory over Massena to advance to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B State Tournament semifinal. And Oswego sophomore Corey Keefe continued to display his tremendous athletic talent. He will take part in the state meet this coming weekend at Cal-Mumford in the Rochester area.
On May 21st the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation held its first ever Great Strides walk at Breitbeck Park in Oswego. Approximately 75 people turned out for the event that raised over $8,000.

The Oswego Town Historical Society will host a “show and tell” at their June 15 6 PM meeting at the Oswego Town Hall 2320 Co. Rt. 7. This unique get-together allows attendees to share items of history with the group.
The colorful float listed the names of the many programs that Catholic Charities offers and was accompanied by representatives from the programs as well as participants.
The group, formed earlier this spring, hopes to open a facility in Fulton to house a theater, art gallery and space for studios, workshops and classes for all ages and all arts.
Jerry F. Cliff, 43, a resident of 42 E. Tenth 1/2 St., passed away on Saturday June 4, 2011, at his home.
