Though I’m not pleased with everything that did pass, one thing you can’t argue with is a lot was accomplished. I’d like to outline for you a few of the bigger issues that came through the Assembly toward the end of session.
Stephanica Watson, 73 formerly of Fulton, passed away June 28 in Florida.
John E. Knopp, 70, a resident of Co Rt. 25, Town of Oswego, passed away July 2, 2011 in Lancaster, PA.
Irene D. Earle, 83 of Hannibal, died suddenly Sunday at University Hospital in Syracuse.
Iona M. Leroux, 85 of Fulton, died Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Lynn Celia (Krosche) Hyland, 64, a resident of East 5th Street in Oswego, was called home by God on July 3, 2011, surrounded by her family.
Jean E. Gillen, 88 and a former resident of Oswego, passed away Friday evening at the home of her son in Christiansburg, Virginia.
SUNY Oswego faculty member Fehmi Damkaci declared all 223 young scientists and artists from 34 countries and 31 states the winners at the closing awards ceremony June 30 of the first GENIUS Olympiad.
In the midst of a sports awards ceremony at the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School, a fireworks display took place. Not the explosive pyrotechnic type of display, but still a crowd pleasing, excitement building performance.
The annual ice cream social of the Oswego Town Historical Society will be held at the Oswego Town Park on Tuesday, July 12, 6pm. This year the Mexico Brass will be in concert as the live entertainment.
