Entergy Supports The United Way
Each year Entergy Corporate matches the funds raised through their employee campaign in support of the United Way dollar for dollar. Their generous donations provided the United Way with $52,890. Entergy’s support plays a major role in the success of the United Way’s annual campaign, as their combined contribution was in excess of $105,000.
Rural Health Network Of Oswego County To Host Scrapbooking Session
Sponsored by the Rural Health Network of Oswego County, the Tobacco Free Network of Oswego County and the Oswego County Health Department, the scrapbooking techniques session will be facilitated by Pam Marion. Marion, who attends a yearly scrapbooking conference in Hamilton, has been creating innovative scrapbooks for the past 15 years.
Foster/Adoption Orientation Meeting July 6
The Oswego County Department of Social Services sponsors an orientation meeting every month for people interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents. The next meeting will be from 9 to 11 a.m. July 6, at Liberty Resources, 1850 Co. Rte. 57, Fulton.
Musical Performances To highlight St. Mary’s Parish Bazaar
Live performances from several of the area’s popular entertainers will add a festive atmosphere to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church’s annual parish bazaar. Scheduled for July 15, 16, and 17 the bazaar will be held in the church parking lot at 103 W. Seventh St.
OCO Senior Nutrition Services Teams With Grist Mill To Help Feed Seniors
Thanks to a partnership between Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Nutrition Services and the Grist Mill Restaurant in Parish, Oswego County residents, age 60 and over, are now able to enjoy a nutritious meal in the friendly environment of the Grist Mill Restaurant.
Public Hearing Scheduled On Digital Sign Issue
The council set a public hearing for 7:10 p.m. July 11 in the Council Chambers, regarding proposed amendments to Chapter 280 Zoning Section 280-65 – Illuminated and Digital Electronic Signs. At issue is where, if any place, should this type of sign be allowed in downtown Oswego.
Fulton Schools Cut 16 Positions, Put Laid Off Staff on Recall List
Friday morning, 16.6 jobs that existed in the Fulton City School District this past school year will not exist anymore.
The Fulton Board of Education voted to eliminate the 16.6 positions, a move made necessary by the cuts contained in the district’s 2011-12 budget.
