Heidi Allen’s sister, Lisa Buske, will speak during the opening ceremonies of the Syracuse Ride for Missing Children. The 100-mile ride, made by bicycle riders or “Friends of Missing Children,” raises funds to support prevention education programs and to remember all missing children.

handcuffsOn Wednesday, at approximately 6:09 a.m., the Oswego City Police Department Anti Crime Team, with the assistance of agents from the United States Border Patrol, executed a narcotics related search warrant at the residence of a Scriba man. On Aug. 29,  they arrested a Fulton man on drug charges as well.

Local Girl Working To Feed Others One Penny At A Time

Christie Hoefer has launched Pennies 4 Pantries, a campaign to collect one million pennies to support local pantries. Pictured with Christie is her grandfather, Don (Boston Bean) Greenlay.

Christie Hoefer, a senior at Oswego High School, has seen firsthand the large number of families in Oswego County who depend on food pantries for their meals. She wants to make a difference in her community. That’s when she thought, why not put all those unwanted pennies to good use.
