Oswego Girl Scouts annual Trick ‘n Feed held on Make a Difference Day

Halloween at Parish Elementary School

Captain Jack Sparrow (Principal Michael McAuliff) commandeered the morning meeting at Parish Elementary School (PES) and saved these two swashbucklers (3rd grader Gabriel Pollack and 1st grader Hunter Hamilton) from walking the plank by asking them to join him in giving the school a welcoming “argh.” Daily morning meetings are a component of the Responsive Classroom model adopted by the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District for grades kindergarten through sixth. While the meetings typically take place in each classroom, the recent school-wide morning meeting followed the same guiding principles and included time to read a message-of-the-day, participate in a group activity and greet one another with pirate, witch, and ghost-inspired hellos.
