Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is in the final stages of creating the second edition of the Oswego County Harvest Guide. The guide has been a great success and helps connect consumers with Oswego County farmers.

Each year more than 750,000 teens in the United States get pregnant, and in Oswego County there were 157 new teen pregnancies in 2011.

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. Students who have completed 12 or more credits with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher are invited to join.

The Fulton Community Band formed 20 years ago in February of 1992.   Paul Sherman, an art teacher at G. Ray Bodley High School and a performer of many musical instruments, sent out a notice to all teachers hoping to form a faculty band.

The German Academic Exchange Service has awarded SUNY Oswego student Elizabeth de Reeder two scholarships to study in Germany for a year, starting in July.

Meteorologist Jim Teske, from Channel 9 WSYR, recently visited Granby Elementary School. He spoke with sixth grade students in Mr. McNamara’s class about severe weather as part of their science curriculum.

Jimmy D and the Jury is sure to have the “Bundle of Bucks” raffle party rocking on May 19 at the Oswego Elks Lodge. With more than 400 people expected to attend, the annual event has become an afternoon of fun for all, especially if you turn out to be one of 15 cash prize winners in the raffle drawing.
