We have 4 kids, ages 1, 5, 10 and 14, and the older ones are nagging us about getting a pet.  We actually like animals and have extra time on our hands (not) but we want to make sure that a pet we choose will be the right one for our family. What do you think?

Scenes From Oswego’s Independence Day Parade

Members of Fort Ontario present the colors, including the British flag commemorating the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.The Port City’s annual Independence Day Parade stepped off at 1 p.m. Sunday and lasted about 90 minutes. Once again, the route traveled west to east. It featured something for everybody from marching bands and fire trucks to colorful floats and and antique cars.

Half-dozen Oswego Horses Join More Than 200 Protected Through Ritchie-sponsored Clinics

Senator Ritchie is pictured with Dr. Oliver and horse owner, Robert Battles of Granby.More than 200 horses have now been vaccinated through the program, in which Senator Ritchie partnered with local veterinarians in Oswego and St. Lawrence County to safeguard horses from the virus that killed at least 11 horses in Central and Northern New York last summer.
