The Oswego State volleyball team (2-2) bounced back from an opening 3-1 loss (25-14, 16-25, 25-22, 25-19) to host Potsdam by sweeping SUNYIT, 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-20), after the first day of the Victory Promotions Invitational Friday.

Sandra Scott Travels: This School Is In A Class All Its Own
The Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pa., is in a class of its own. It all came about at the request of Kitty, Milton Hershey’s wife, to start a school for orphan boys. Unable to have children of their own, they created the Hershey Industrial School for orphan boys in 1909.
The school has grown through the years and changed to meet the needs of today’s world.

Hundreds Light Up Fort Ontario With Memories of Kyle
Nearly 200 friends and family circled the parade grounds at historic Fort Ontario Friday night to pay homage to Kyle Rookey. Hundreds more, from Fort Ontario to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colo. (where Kyle was stationed) and beyond also remembered the 23-year-old Oswegonian who died Sept. 2, in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, while serving in the US Army.

Fall Championship Returns to Oswego Speedway September 15
For the first time since 2005, the Speedway will hold a non-wing event passed Classic Weekend with the rebirth of the Fall Championship. The season finale will be a non-points paying event featuring a 75-lap Novelis Supermodified main and a 35-lap Pathfinder Bank SBS feature.
