Commander Peter Robson with the Challenger Learning Center in Rochester, New York gave third grade students an opportunity to experience the life of a NASA astronaut and started his presentation with a real blast… a video of the Space Shuttle Atlantis launch.

In preparation for the annual downtown holiday season, Lakeside Artisans is arranging
the decorative displays in Canal Commons. Garland, ornaments, decorated Christmas trees and brightly wrapped faux presents will adorn the common areas.

Just over a week ago, people across the country waited and watched for Superstorm Sandy to make landfall.  Now, left in this storm’s path is devastation unlike anything we have ever seen before.

The Fulton First United Methodist Church Men’s Group is looking for crafters for its fourth annual craft show, luncheon, and chicken barbecue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 24.

A benefit for the Malambri family will be held from 2-6 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Polish Home, 153 W. First St. S., Fulton. The event will feature a spaghetti dinner, raffles, 50/50 drawings, a bake sale and live entertainment.

The H. Lee White Marine Museum is offering kids an opportunity to get in the spirit for the holidays by attending a gingerbread ornament workshop on November 18 from 2 – 3 p.m.
