The Oswego County Department of Social Services will temporarily re-locate to the former Cayuga Community College facility on state Route 3, west of Fulton, in mid-December. The Mexico office building will be closed for asbestos abatement and repairs until early May 2013.

Eligible students were invited to apply the week of November 12 . In order to be eligible students must have an overall GPA of 87.0 or above. The application process asks students to provide written information to the selection committee regarding their efforts with community service, leadership, and character.
Students in first and second grades at Sandy Creek Elementary School performed several Thanksgiving-themed songs under the direction of music teacher Jackie Hobbs during the Annual Thanksgiving Feast.
The Fourth Annual Sandy Creek Alumni Basketball game will be held on Dec. 28 in the high school gymnasium. The evening will feature two games, a boys’ and girls’, with the first game beginning at 6 p.m. A shooting contest will be held between the two games.
John M. Oswald, 85, a resident of Oswego, passed away Tuesday November 27, 2012, at St. Luke Health Services.
Alan Jones was re-sentenced on Wednesday in Oswego County Court. He received the maximum for second-degree manslaughter, 5 to 15 years. He had been serving a 25 years to life sentence.
