This training provided information for our spotters on winter weather definitions, typical weather patterns that bring winter weather to Central New York along with some of the greatest weather hazards, how to measure snowfall accurately, greatest winter hazards and, of interest to everyone, the real facts in regard to 2011-2012 “Winter that Wasn’t.”
Fitzhugh Park School hosted “Trevorthon” for a third grader struggling with a medical condition. Students and staff brought “change to make a change” and put on their dancing shoes. The one-day project brought in $932 for the worthwhile cause.
Oswego High School art students have a display of watercolor paintings at “The Coffee Connection” on Water Street in Oswego.
The concert, presented by the newly formed Musical Associates of Central New York, will be held December 16 at 3 p.m. at the Oswego High School auditorium.
The whole community is invited to a special Blue Christmas service on December 19, 7 pm, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 64 Gillespie Road, at the intersection with Route 176.
Samantha Schuffenecker, a senior at Connecticut College, was recently inducted into the Connecticut College chapter of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society of Psychology.
The Visually Impaired Group of Oswego County generously donated three huge Thanksgiving food baskets to the Oswego County Opportunities Pinewoods Head Start Program.
