“Gutterballs,” a Port City Roller Derby fundraiser at sponsor Lighthouse Lanes on Jan. 18, will offer cosmic bowling, food and time to meet members of the league.

Oswego Hospital welcomed its first baby of the year, Natalie Storme Backus at 1:04 a.m. on New Year’s Day. She weighed six pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long.
The fans at Powers Gymnasium on Thursday night witnessed a wide open high school basketball game. Oswego rallied for a 76-67 victory over the visiting Auburn Maroons, but the win didn’t come easily.
