SUNY Oswego students donate $2,179 to Parents of Special Children, part of the proceeds from the fall 2013 Miss-a-Meal fundraiser in campus dining halls.

Locally, one in eight babies will be born premature this year, and the Stone family is working with the March of Dimes to change this. Tim and Trisha Stone of Team Stella are the 2013 Oswego Family Teams chairs.

The first of the free public sessions will take place at 4 p.m. Feb. 18, in the Campus Center auditorium. Tarak Barkawi, associate professor at the New School for Social Research, will lead a discussion on Small Wars, Big Consequences: Military Orientalism and Western Identity.

The College at Brockport, State University of New York, recently honored students who excelled academically by naming them to the President’s List for the fall 2012 semester.

Army Staff Sgt. Gary M. Blasczienski has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
