Paul D. Furman, 75, a resident of Varick Street in Oswego, passed away Sunday March 3, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, following a long illness.
On Feb. 28 there was a gun rally in Albany. There was an estimated 10,000 people who attended from across the state.The rally represented not only those advocating for Second Amendment rights but those fighting for democracy.
Celebrating its second anniversary, Lakeside Artisans will hold an anniversary open house at 191 W. First St., on March 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. This meet and greet the artists is free and open to the public, with refreshments, an unveiling of recent artwork by its members and special anniversary raffle drawings.
Operation Uplink was launched in 1996 to connect active-duty troops and hospitalized veterans with their loved ones. The program uses contributions from supporters to purchase phone time for the men and women who are serving, or have served, as well as hospitalized veterans.
