The 10th annual Oswego Pizza Villa Spring Spruce-Up Day at the Speedway is set for April 20, and race fans are once again welcome to come leave their mark and help prepare the Speedway for opening day on May 4. The annual Spruce-Up Day will begin at 8 a.m. with free lunch being served by Pizza Villa of Oswego at noon.
The SUNY Oswego College Choir, State Singers and Festival Chorus will perform April 29 in a free public concert featuring a cornucopia of compositions spanning the 16th century to the present day. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, 120 W. Fifth St. in Oswego.
New York Agriculture in the Classroom’s eighth annual New York Agricultural Literacy Week was held in March throughout Oswego County. Community members volunteered to read “The Beeman,” by Laurie Krebs and Valeria Cis, to local elementary classrooms. This book rhyming text and colorful illustrations presented all of the aspects of beekeeping.
The school district will host a Title I Parent Advisory meeting on April 18. It will be held from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Fulton Education Center, 167 S. Fourth St.
Lexie Mae Montieth and Leila Marie Montieth were born in Oswego Hospital on April 3, 2013.
Ayden Horning was born in Oswego Hospital on April 4, 2013.
Singer-songwriter, David Wilcox, is coming to Oswego next month. He is all set to perform in the McCrobie Building at the Oswego Music Hall on May 4. Wilcox is very well-respected in the guitarist community and has an incredibly loyal fan following.
