Mirembe Schewe was born to Sarah and Zechariah Schewe of Oswego and was delivered by Dr. Daniel Coty on February 5, 2013. She was born at Oswego Hospital.
Port City Roller Derby will team up with Friendly’s on April 11 for a fundraiser pairing food with the non-profit organization’s community activities. Anyone interested in supporting the fundraiser can bring the voucher to the Oswego Friendly’s and present it to the server before ordering and 15 percent of the purchase will support the roller derby league.
Spring has arrived and that means it’s time for spring cleaning. Besides cleaning up your house and yard – it is also time to once again spruce up the environment. “April 22 is Earth Day,” said Richard Drosse, Earth Week coordinator for the county’s Environmental Management Council. “In recognition, the council invites individuals, schools and groups to participate in Oswego County’s Earth Week, April 19 – 28.”

Lorraine Frances Pokalsky, 79, of Phoenix, passed away on Monday April 1, 2013, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.

Recently Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School presented the classic Broadway musical, “Hello, Dolly!” At the final performance, the 2013 Jacalyn Vinciquerra Stweart Memorial Award For Achievement in Musical Theatre was presented.
Students at Trinity Catholic School recently held a very successful Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. A total of $5,671 was raised by students for the American Heart Association! A portion of this money will be given to TCS to purchase physical education equipment.
Mix two original musical compositions, an orchestra, a big band, a rapper, additional vocalists, a campus grant, a crowd-sourced Kickstarter campaign and an ongoing learning project. The result is an ambitious Quest presentation by SUNY Oswego senior music major Tony Iannone.
