Oswego Health’s Mass Casualty Drill a Success

Oswego Hospital recently held a mass casualty drill to evaluate the staff and facility’s response capabilities to a potential terrorist attack. Portraying the victims were Oswego BOCES New Vision students who self-reported to the hospital’s emergency room. The students, along with hospital personnel, are pictured in one of the triage areas.While Oswego Hospital staff members hope to never execute the skills they learned during an emergency drill, they are prepared. Oswego Hospital recently held a mass casualty drill to evaluate the staff and facility’s response capabilities to a potential terrorist attack. The scenario for this fictitious event included numerous improvised explosive (IEDs) devices being detonated at a sporting event.

Half-Shire Historical Society News – Week of June 10, 2013

The society has been very busy this spring with public hours most every day between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Various volunteers are staffing the building and helping researchers during these times. Our former librarian Pam Kellogg is up most days through July while she visits New York and has been working with Erma Schroeder on the indexing of obituaries.

Fitzhugh Park Musical on Stage This Thursday and Friday at OHS Theatre

The Captain’s Choir of Fitzhugh Park School presented music teacher Garrett Heater with a herculean task  as  they wanted a musical based on the maritime tragedy Titanic for their annual musical. “Tillie and Tipper Aboard the Titanic” will be performed on Thursday and Friday at the Robinson-Faust Theatre at 7 p.m.
