The auditions are scheduled for June 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. and June 15 also from 6 to 8 p.m. at the New Haven Congregational Church located on Route 104 East between Oswego and Mexico.
New York State has a situation that affects taxpayers, consumers and responsible caretakers. The subject is the rapid influx of commercial breeders, primarily to Central New York. As regulations in neighboring states have become more stringent, breeders are moving into New York. New York State appears to be the only state that specifically has language that disallows home rule regarding companion animal breeders and pet stores.

Third, fourth and fifth grade students from across central New York will participate in ceremonies commemorating the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States of America on June 14, 1777. During a luncheon ceremony in May, Cayuga Community College recognized 66 first-year nursing students for their academic and clinical accomplishments and their success in “moving up” to the second year of the rigorous program.

Director Inez Manor Parker has cast Moe Harrington as the lead in the Oswego Players’ 75th Anniversary season musical, “Mame.” Although Harrington is making her debut with the Players, she is no stranger to local theatre, being well-known particularly in the Syracuse area.
Four Central New York SUNY institutions — the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), SUNY Oswego, SUNY Upstate Medical University and Onondaga Community College — have won $15 million in a competitive grant program to create the SUNY Institute of Environmental Health and Environmental Medicine
The “Community Service Award” is given by the Rotarians to a person, or persons in the community who perform several acts that exemplify the Rotary Motto, “Service Above Self.” The 52nd Award was presented on May 16 to Lori Lyons, by club president Charrise Kidd.
