Penfield Library at SUNY Oswego is extending borrowing privileges to Oswego County K-12 educators and high school students. Complimentary library cards will give them access to college-level research resources, services and collections. All county educators are welcome to apply for a complimentary library card by visiting the library’s front desk.

Joleene DesRosiers Moody to Speak at ‘Connections’

On October 29, Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations will gather women from across New York State for Connections, a day-long conference to be held at River Vista Center in Fulton. The theme is “Connect – Pursue – Advance” and will feature several speakers, networking opportunities, breakfast, lunch, a dessert reception, and a women’s marketplace.

SUNY Oswego troupe takes to stage, street at Fringe Festival in Scotland

(Carlos Clemenz photo)Six students and two theatre faculty members from SUNY Oswego participated in August in the world’s largest performing arts festival, taking their production of “Desdemona, A Play About a Handkerchief” to the stages and streets of Edinburgh, Scotland. The Edinburgh Fringe Festival — a monthlong kaleidoscope of more than 2,100 theatre, music, dance and comedy productions — drew the SUNY Oswego troupe for a jam-packed 11-day trip.

So Long Summer, Hello School Year!

It’s hard to believe that students are gearing up for the start of another school year full of fun and new challenges. Just like students who will be studying hard, I’m working hard to ensure our children are getting the quality education they deserve and that parents and taxpayers receive the value they expect. A big part of working to improve educational opportunities is listening to your opinions and ideas when it comes to our schools.
